What the heck, Lets drill it. After much contemplation I drilled some holes in my old Hilux. I must admit I pondered for about 3 hours measuring and re-measuring everything over and over. And they say woodworking is hard. Well after I was damn sure - not really - out came the punch and I marked the holes.
Out with the drill and whola!!!!
The marking of the bracket on the post was next with three holes to pop rivet the bracket to the post.
And the result!!!!!
All Snorkeled up feeding clean air to the engine! I always wanted to fit one but at the local prices it was
just plain ridiculous to pay R8000.00 for a plastic pipe.
This one was imported by a member on the Hilux forum and it set me back R1800. Still a lot of money for a plastic pipe......But it just looks awesome!

Uuummm....I hate to state the obvious, but when it rains, you are going to get water into your air in-take system, I think?
I thought snorkels faced backwards to avoid rain getting in?
The air filter housing actually compensate for some water that might get into the snorkel. So that is not a real worry. !!!
